Montville scored three goals in the second half to secure a 3-0 first-round victory over Bergenfield in the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3 tournament in Montville.

Freshman Gianni Marucci scored his first career goal for Montville. Cian Guinnelly and Eli Kaiser also scored.

Bergenfield goalie Tiago Gonzalez saved six shots, while Rowan Baines needed to make only one save for Montville.

Bergenfield’s 2025 season ends with a 9-8-2 record.

Montville (15-5), the No. 5 seed, hosts No. 12 Wayne Valley in the quarterfinal of the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3 tournament on Nov. 7.
