The Mesa County Valley School District 51 Board of Education experienced a likely shake-up in Tuesday’s election.
Results were not finalized by The Daily Sentinel’s deadline time Tuesday night, but Kaci Cole found herself up by more than 4,000 votes against incumbent Vice President Will Jones for the District D seat and Vicki Woods found herself up more than 6,000 votes against incumbent Secretary Angela Lema for the District E seat by night’s end.
Board President Andrea Haitz led challenger Mike Rathbone by just more than 1,400 votes, putting her in a better position than her fellow incumbents.
As of 9 p.m., per the Colorado Secretary of State’s vote dashboard, Mesa County had 46,513 ballots cast, a voter turnout of 39%. The results available by The Daily Sentinel’s deadline were based
