Bhubaneswar: In a tragic accident, a woman was electrocuted while taking a bath at her home in Nandipada village under Hatadihi block of Keonjhar district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Mandakini Roul.

According to reports, she woke up early to take a shower in preparation for the Kartika Purnima rituals. She went to the bathroom to heat water using an immersion rod. However, while taking a bath, she accidentally slipped and fell into the water, coming into contact with the immersion rod, which resulted in fatal electrocution.

Hearing her screams, family members broke open the bathroom door and rushed her to Anandapur CHC, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
