WICKLIFFE, Ohio — For the second time this year, voters in the Wickliffe City School District have rejected a proposal to raise operating funds — this time turning down a 1% earned-income tax that district officials said was critical to avoiding multimillion-dollar deficits.
According to unofficial results from the Lake County Board of Elections, the measure failed 52.98% to 47.02%, with all nine precincts reporting Tuesday night.
