India's ambitious Gaganyaan mission, the country's first human spaceflight program, will not launch in 2025 as initially planned.

The maiden uncrewed launch has been postponed to January 2026, Isro chairman V Narayanan revealed recently.

Narayanan, as reported by PTI, confirmed that over 8,000 tests have been conducted so far as part of the mission's preparation.

The Indian Space Research Organisation plans to conduct three uncrewed test missions before sending astronauts into space aboard a home-grown rocket, currently scheduled for 2027. This phased approach aims to validate critical spacecraft systems including crew safety, environmental controls, and re-entry mechanisms.
