Pakistan’s security crisis deepened this week as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar launched a blistering, yet veiled, attack on the policies of the previous administration and the former head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed (retd), directly linking his actions to the resurgence of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Speaking in Pakistan’s Senate on Tuesday, Dar repeatedly referred to the infamous September 2021 image of the then-DG ISI Hameed sipping tea at the Serena Hotel in Kabul shortly after the Taliban takeover.
