Bhadrak: In a shocking incident driven by one-sided obsession, a youth allegedly attacked and slit the throat of a minor girl’s father in Aruha village under Basudevpur police station limits in Bhadrak district on Tuesday.

According to reports, the accused, identified as Alok Behera, a resident of Bishnubindha village under Barantua panchayat, had been persistently harassing a Class 9 girl from nearby Tulmatula village, claiming to be in love with her.

Sources said Alok approached the girl at her tuition class in Tulmatula and allegedly harassed her. When the girl’s father, Rajendra Rout, arrived to pick her up, he confronted Alok, leading to a heated altercation. Following the quarrel, Alok reportedly fled the spot.
