Shortly after Democratic candidates, including Indian-origin Zohran Mamdani and Ghazala Firdaus Hashmi , swept elections in the US, US President Donald Trump ally Laura Loomer targeted the winners, particularly its Muslim members, labelling them "jihadist". The far-right activist called their victory an "Islamic takeover of America", saying that it was going to be the number one political issue in the future. The MAGA leader also alleged that Mamdani would encourage Muslims to commit political violence to acquire power and silence critics.
