A major shake-up of Britain's sick note culture would see employers offer far more support to people with ill-health, so they don't end up being written off from work and living on disability and incapacity benefits.
Around 2.2 million people on Universal Credit are in the sickness group for 'limited capability for work and work-related activity' (LCWRA), which provides an extra £423 per month on top of the standard amount of UC and means they aren't required to work due to long-term health conditions or disabilities.
