David K. Sias, a consummate gentleman and scholar, accomplished international banker and world traveler, beautiful fly-fisherman and a devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away surrounded by family on October 15.
A native of New Jersey, David was the only child of Mabel Lewi Sias and David Kenneth Sias. He graduated from Yale University in 1959 and earned his MBA at New York University while working full-time as a young banker. Between Yale and NYU, David served in the U.S. Army as a tank commander in Germany where he quickly learned the language and forged the path for his return to Frankfurt where he headed the acquisition of Deutsche Union Bank. He and his wife lived in Germany for seven years where both his children were born.
