FORT MADISON (WGEM) - Melinda Blind was elected on Tuesday as Fort Madison’s next mayor.

In May, Fort Madison Mayor Matt Mohrfeld announced he will not be seeking a fourth term.

Mohrfeld has held the position since 2019.

Blind went up against Rodney Joe Hoskins II, Carl Rippenkroeger, Roy Woodsmall, and Tom Schulz.

Blind has worked for the city for 29 years.
