1. Mutts Gone Nuts comes to Joplin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Beshore Performance Hall at the Harry M. Cornell Arts & Entertainment Complex, 212 W. Seventh St. Each of the nine dogs in the cast was adopted from animal shelters or rescues, and now they delight audiences as they unleash havoc and hilarity on stage. Comedy duo Scott and Joan Houghton, who created Mutts Gone Nuts, have been entertaining audiences worldwide since 1985. They spent three years touring with country star Lee Greenwood and seven years as the featured comedy act at Dolly Parton’s Theaters in Branson, Orlando, and Myrtle Beach.
