Parts of Maryland saw some frosty weather Wednesday morning as temperatures dipped into the lower to mid-30s for many neighborhoods outside of the Beltway.

Cold weather returns Wednesday night

Maximum winds on Wednesday peaked between 30-40 mph for much of the state with slightly stronger wind gusts in western Maryland.

As a strong cold front sweeps across the area Wednesday night, a few northern neighborhoods could see a spotty shower or two. Winds will quickly ramp up right behind the cold front, which will pass through the Baltimore area around midnight.

More wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph are possible for a few hours during the overnight as the next blast of chilly air arrives.
