The Abilene Cowboys football season came to an end in the opening round of the playoffs on Friday evening with a 35-7 home loss to the Andover Central Jaguars.
After a scoreless first half by both teams, Andover Central who won the state championship title a year ago took advantage of turnovers in the second half to secure the victory. The Jaguars would pull away for good late in the game with 21 straight points.
Both teams defenses would do their jobs in the first half of the game as neither team would score. Abilene would have the best chance of the half, but a field goal attempt would be unsuccessful early in the second quarter.
Andover Central would then open the scoring in the second half with a pair of quick touchdowns.
