Joe Rogan has once again entered the realm of Canadian politics, sharing his thoughts on how Donald Trump may have influenced the recent Canadian election during a podcast episode. Following the resignation of former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in January, which coincided with Trump’s return to power and his comments about making Canada the "51st state," the Liberal Party appointed Mark Carney as its new leader.

As Canada prepared for a federal election in the spring, Carney campaigned with the slogan "elbows up," promising to negotiate new economic agreements with the United States. Meanwhile, his Conservative opponent, Pierre Poilievre, struggled in the polls.

Rogan commented on the situation, saying, "All we did is differ with them economically and Trump tried to turn them into a state," while laughing and mimicking Trump. He recalled Trump referring to Trudeau as "Governor Trudeau" and noted that many people thought it was a good idea.

In a clip that has gained significant attention online, Rogan stated that Trump’s rhetoric about Canada becoming a state "single-handedly ruined Canada." He added, "All of a sudden the whole country united because Trump’s trying to turn them into a state."

Konstantin Kisin, a guest on Rogan's podcast, remarked that Poilievre must be frustrated by the situation, to which Rogan agreed, saying, "He was logical and reasonable … Canada (was) back." Another guest, Francis Foster, described Trump’s involvement in Canadian politics as the ultimate "c*** block" for Poilievre, who was previously seen as a strong contender for a majority win.

Rogan elaborated on this analogy, saying, "Do you know what I mean? You’re in the bar, it’s about to happen with the girl … It’s going down. I’m so going to get laid. Then Trump pops up, whispers something in her ear and all of a sudden it’s f***ing over."

While Carney and Poilievre worked to secure votes, Trump expressed indifference about the outcome of the election. He stated, "I think it’s easier to deal, actually, with a liberal and maybe they’re going to win, but I don’t really care. It doesn’t matter to me at all." Trump also criticized Poilievre, saying, "The conservative that’s running is, stupidly, no friend of mine. I don’t know him, but he said negative things. When he says negative things, I couldn’t care less."

Rogan was surprised by the Liberal Party's return to power in April, especially after Trudeau's government had faced significant challenges. In a previous episode, he discussed the government's handling of the trucker protests in 2022, criticizing Trudeau's actions and calling him "a creepy dictator."

Rogan mentioned that he had invited Poilievre to appear on his podcast before the election, but Poilievre declined, reportedly due to concerns from his advisers. Rogan expressed disappointment, stating, "I offered to have that Pierre guy come on the podcast. He didn’t do it. Wouldn’t do it. Thought it was too problematic. Or whatever."

He emphasized that he would have asked straightforward questions about Canada’s political situation, saying, "I would just ask him questions like, ‘What’s wrong with Canada?’ and ‘How did this happen?’" Last year, Rogan endorsed Poilievre as a candidate for prime minister, urging Canadians to reject Trudeau’s Liberals. He expressed a desire for the U.S. and Canada to strengthen their relationship, stating, "I don’t know what’s happening with their politics, but I just want America and Canada to get along. I think it’s ridiculous."
