: Senior Congress MLA and former Minister Sudip Roy Barman on Wednesday slammed Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, terming his recent move to form the ‘One North East’ alliance as a “political gimmick” designed to divert attention from his unfulfilled promises under the Greater Tipraland demand and the Tiprasa Accord.
Reacting to the joint declaration made in New Delhi a day earlier by Pradyot along with Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and other tribal leaders from the region, Roy Barman questioned the relevance and intent behind bringing together various indigenous political parties under a single platform.
