MISSOULA — Montana tight end Evan Shafer hauled in a bullet from quarterback Keali'i Ah Yat while sliding toward the back of the end zone last week as a Weber State defender was draped all over him at Stewart Stadium.

One game earlier, he shoved a defender to the ground nearly 10 yards into the backfield, ran downfield as Ah Yat scrambled to the other sideline and made a headfirst diving catch at the front of the end zone at Sacramento State.

That was two touchdowns in two weeks for Shafer, who had scored just three times in his first 36 games at UM and went 24 games between scores. It was another glimpse at how loaded the Grizzlies are with their offensive weapons.
