Hospice Quinte has named board member Kim Lander as this year’s recipient of the John Williams Champion of Care Award.
The agency’s annual donor appreciation event was Oct. 30 at Bayside Secondary School. More than 100 donors whose names now appear on Hospice Quinte’s donor wall were the guests of honour. The event also marked the agency’s 40 th anniversary and the fourth anniversary of the first resident’s arrival in the Stan Klemencic Care Centre.

Award-winner Lander is a long-time volunteer with Hospice Quinte as well as a current board member and past president. She’s donated her time as a greeter, in the kitchen, and at fundraising events.
An agency news release described Lander as “a pillar of the Hospice Quinte family.”
