MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- Myrtle Beach mayor-elect Mark Kruea received a fraction of the amount of campaign contributions as incumbent Brenda Bethune in the months leading up to Tuesday's election, online records show.
In October, Kruea's campaign received just $2,320, a fraction of Bethune's $4,100, according to data on the South Carolina State Ethics Commission website. Bethune also far outpaced Kruea in September, raising $23,750 to his $7,300.
Kruea was also outpaced in October by challenger Mark McBride, who raised $3,800. The other candidates, Eva Rigney ($1,750 in October and $1,650 in September) and Daniel Aumen, however, raised less than Kruea.
The largest donation to Kruea and Bethune was $1,000. Kruea received three donations of $1,000, while Bethune got several more, incl
