Senior Congress MLA and former Minister Sudip Roy Barman on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, describing his latest move to forge the ‘One North East’ alliance as a “political gimmick” aimed at diverting attention from his failures to achieve anything substantial under the Greater Tipraland demand and the Tiprasa Accord.

Reacting to the joint declaration made a day earlier by Pradyot along with Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and other tribal leaders in New Delhi, Roy Barman questioned the relevance and purpose of unifying several indigenous political parties across the Northeast under one umbrella.
