CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Bring Isaiah Evans back to play in Charlotte, and the Duke basketball wing does not lose.

But as coach Jon Scheyer did, knock on wood ― or in his case, on the postgame press conference table.

Evans added to his winning-streak in the Spectrum Center as a Blue Devil on Tuesday night, scoring a team-high 23 points to lead No. 6 Duke past Texas 75-60 in its season opener as part of the Dick Vitale Invitational. The sophomore shot 7-of-13 from the field, 4-of-8 from beyond the arc and was 5-of-6 from the charity stripe.
