Voters in Minneapolis have set a new record, with thousands more turning out to cast ballots in Tuesday's municipal election compared to four years ago.
According to the city, more than 147,700 voters cast ballots in the 2025 municipal election across the city’s 13 wards. That means 55% of registered voters participated in this year’s election, breaking the previous record set during the 2021 municipal election, when about 145,300 voters participated.
Voters were able to make their voices heard in several consequential races, namely the highly publicized mayor’s race, which still hasn't been called. All 13 of the Minneapolis City Council seats were also up for grabs.
