From allegations of assault to intimidation, the second day of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal was mired by controversies and political finger-pointing.
A Booth Level Agent (BLA) of the BJP alleged that he was assaulted by ruling TMC workers at Kalitala panchayat in Hingalganj Assembly constituency in North 24 Parganas district on Wednesday while he was returning with the Booth Level Officer after distributing enumeration forms.
“I was stopped on the side of the road. They kicked me and punched me in my chest and stomach. Residents of the area rescued me,” BJP’s BLA Ranjit Mallick said.
