BINGHAMTON, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The National Weather Service office in Binghamton has issued a High Wind Warning for a large part of Central New York beginning Wednesday night and lasting into Thursday morning. The area included in the High Wind Warning encompasses Southern Oneida County, as well as Otsego, Delaware and Madison Counties.
The warning takes effect in Madison County at 4:00PM Wednesday and at 7:00PM in Oneida, Otsego and Delaware Counties. All of the warning are set to expire at 7:00AM Thursday.
West winds are expected at 25 to 35 MPH with gusts up to 60 MPH. Such winds will be capable of taking down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. High profile vehicles, like box trucks and tractor trailers, could experience difficulty on the roads.
