The La Plata teen is following her dream of becoming a nurse.

She’s tough, talented, and already inspiring everyone around her.

Charles County native Janiah, 18, from La Plata, isn’t letting lymphoma slow her down.

The student-athlete, who loves lacrosse, soccer, track, and swimming, kept doing what she loved even through treatment — and now she’s setting her sights on something even bigger.

Through Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, Janiah wished for tuition assistance to help her chase her dream of becoming a nurse.

She said she wants to help others “just as she has been helped throughout her journey.”

Her strength and positivity shine both on and off the field.

Those who know her say she leads with compassion, resilience, and an energy that lifts everyone around her.

"Great job, young lady!" one neighbor wrote. "Keep pushing and become who you are destined to be. Continue to smile and never stop trying new things. Hugs from Charlotte Hall."

Another added, "Keep smiling and shining, Janiah. You are such an inspiration!"

Now a student at the College of Southern Maryland, Janiah is already turning that dream into reality — one class, one goal, one step at a time.
