MIAMI GARDENS — The Dolphins have signed edge rusher Andre Carter II, a 6-foot-6, 257-pound third-year player, from Detroit’s practice squad. Carter, 25, has never appeared in an NFL game but has been on practice squads with Minnesota (2023) and Las Vegas (2024).
Carter signed with Minnesota as an undrafted free agent from Army and has an outside chance to make an impact with the Dolphins, who traded edge rusher Jaelan Phillips to Philadelphia on Tuesday.
The Dolphins’ healthy edge rushers aside from Carter include Bradley Chubb and Cameron Goode. Chop Robinson, the 2024 first-round pick, is in concussion protocol after being injured in last week’s 28-6 loss to Baltimore.
The Dolphins have edge rushers Quentin Bell and Derrick McLendon on the practice squad and could be elevated. Bell
