Despite freezing temperatures across much of the country, the Mega Millions jackpot continues to heat up, reaching an estimated $843 million for Friday’s drawing. The cash option is valued at $391.7 million, making it the eighth-largest jackpot in the game’s history.
“This is just incredible to see for this game with its new format,” Acting Director David Bradley said. “Less than seven full months ago, this game relaunched with a new price point and new features, and now it has a jackpot in the Top 10. It’s an exciting thing to watch, but as with all of our games, we strongly ask players to play responsibly.”
Friday’s drawing will mark the 38th in the current run, with nearly 11 million winning tickets sold across all nine prize tiers.
