LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A shelter-in-place was ordered for nearly the entire city Tuesday evening when a UPS cargo place crashed near Louisville International Airport.

At least nine people are dead and 16 were reported missing from the crash, according to Gov. Andy Beshear.

As of Wednesday morning, that shelter-in-place was revised to include only those within a half-mile radius from the airport.

Originally, there was a widespread shelter-in-place order that extended from the Outer Loop to as far north as Jeffersonville in southern Indiana.

Metro Emergency Services advised homes or businesses within the shelter-in-place order to turn off any air in-take systems.

Officials said the cause of the UPS plane crash remain unclear. The FAA and NTSB are investigating, however.
