BRADENTON, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Prosecutors have dropped one charge against a man accused of two separate attacks within 10 days.
Gene Addition, 39, remains suspected in a deadly stabbing and machete attack. The murder charge remains, but prosecutors are no longer pursuing the machete attack charge.
Bradenton man charged in deadly stabbing had prior arrest for similar incident
Investigators say Addition killed Wedness Cleofa on September 7, striking him multiple times with a knife. The incident happened on the 400 block of 6th Avenue in Bradenton.
Witnesses say the two men were arguing before the stabbing.
Prosecutors say the machete attack occurred nine days earlier in that same neighborhood.
Addition will be heading to court once again on December 11.
