INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana's Attorney General Todd Rokita wants President Donald Trump to send the National Guard to Indianapolis.
Rokita's call comes after a violent weekend in the city.
Trump has deployed troops to several American cities this summer.
Rokita posted his thoughts on X in response to a post from Indianapolis Fraternal Order of Police President Rick Snyder who posted about this past weekend's violence.
At least 10 people were shot in Indianapolis over the weekend:
In one case, two victims were teenagers. Police say one of those teens died.
In another incident, police say three people were shot inside a bar in downtown Indianapolis early Sunday morning.
In a third case, IMPD says someone was shot on the sidewalk near Meridian and Georgia streets.
