PITTSBURGH —

Buddy Parker, a former head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Western Pennsylvania native Marty Schottenheimer have advanced for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Schottenheimer and Parker are among nine semifinalists in the coach category. From that list, one finalist will be chosen for Hall of Fame voting for the Class of 2026. Advertisement

Schottenheimer coached three NFL teams to the postseason. He led the Browns to two AFC championship games in the 1980s, returned to the championship game with the Chiefs in 1993, and was later named Coach of the Year in 2004 with the Chargers. The Canonsburg native played football at Fort Cherry High School and the University of Pittsburgh.
