Maryland State Delegate Jason Buckel expressed concerns over Gov. Wes Moore’s redistricting plan, accusing it of being politically motivated to enhance national recognition.
Buckel spoke on the T.J. Smith Show Tuesday afternoon. When asked about Moore’s proposed redistricting commission, Buckel said the governor is trying to further his political ambitions.
“Wes Moore wants to make Maryland the most gerrymandered state in the nation to deliver an 8-0 congressional delegation of Democrats to D.C. so that he gets national street cred,” Buckel said.
Buckel acknowledged the possibility of court intervention but cautioned against relying on it.
“I have no idea what the justices of the Maryland Supreme Court may do,” Buckel said. “It is improper for them to try to suggest what they may do or
