Lowell police locate ‘vehicle of interest’ following fatal hit and run

Police in Lowell have located a vehicle of interest in connection with a hit and run last week that left a woman dead, police said.

The woman was hit shortly before midnight Thursday on Chelmsford Street, police said. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police released photographs of what appears to be a gray-colored SUV, describing it as a “vehicle of interest.”
