At least eight people were killed and around 20 others injured after a passenger train collided with a goods train near Bilaspur railway station in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday (November 4), officials said.
The incident occurred around 4 pm near Bilaspur station, according to railway officials, as per news agency ANI. Rescue operations are underway, with multiple agencies deployed at the site.
Railway officials said in a statement, "MEMU train coach hit a goods train near Bilaspur station at about 16:00 hours. Two people have been injured in the incident. Railways have moved all the resources, and all measures are being ensured for the treatment of the injured."
