HOUSTON – Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud remains sidelined with a concussion, and Davis Mills stepped in for him Wednesday as QB1 as the team began practicing for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Mills is expected to start, barring an unexpected speedy return from Stroud. Stroud suffered the concussion Sunday on an unpenalized hit former cornerback Kris Abrams- Draine while sliding against the Denver Broncos.
Usually, players who suffer a concussion miss at least one game. In the case of Stroud, he was sidelined for two games when he suffered a similar type of concussion as a rookie against the New York Jets when he was hit by Quinnen Williams. Both times, the back of his head crashed into the ground as he was sent flailing backwards.
