COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Columbus Water Works has postponed its scheduled vote on proposed rate adjustments from the November 10 Board of Water Commissioners meeting to the December 8 meeting.
The decision comes in response to the ongoing federal government shutdown and the uncertainty it has created for many families and businesses.
“You spoke and we listened,” said Jeremy Cummings, president of Columbus Water Works. “We understand that many households are facing uncertainty right now, and we want to be mindful of that as we make decisions that affect our community. Postponing the vote gives us time to see how things settle before moving forward with any changes in January.”
Columbus Water Works remains committed to maintaining reliable service while being mindful of the financial real
