Major League Baseball officially announced 2026 spring training schedules for all 30 clubs on Wednesday, and the highlights on the Red Sox slate include a pair of exhibition games against opponents with strong ties to the organization: Northeastern University and the World Baseball Classic team from Alex Cora’s native Puerto Rico.
Fans will get their first look at the ’26 Red Sox on Feb. 20, when they host the Northeastern Huskies for the annual pre-preseason game. The tradition dates back to 2004, but technically began on April 11, 1977, when the two squared off at Fenway Park.
Team Puerto Rico will come to JetBlue Park to play the Red Sox on March 3. It is one of 28 exhibition games between MLB and WBC teams taking place around the Grapefruit League between March 3-4. The ’26 WBC begin
