PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An Oregon supermarket that offered markdowns to customers impacted by a lapse in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program has been dinged by federal officials.

According to a Facebook post shared on Oct. 31, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has issued Roseburg’s Grocery Outlet a notice that it could no longer implement a 10% discount for patrons who use Electronic Benefit Transfer cards to pay for food.
