Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Wednesday announced a complete waiver of conversion premiums and stamp duty for agricultural land allotted to the wives of martyred soldiers under the state’s welfare scheme.

The decision, taken at a high-level meeting at Mantralaya on Tuesday, ensures that land granted as rehabilitation remains fully unconditional.

The announcement directly addresses concerns raised by the wives of martyred soldiers, who highlighted this issue during a meeting at Mantralaya.

They highlighted the burden of stamp duty and premiums to convert Occupancy Class-II (OC-II) land into full-ownership Occupancy Class-I (OC-I).
