The scheme comprises of the of the construction and operation of a carbon capture plant, storage and marine export terminal.
The application was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for consideration by Cory Environmental Holdings Limited (CEHL) on 21 March 2024 and accepted for examination on 26 April 2024.
Following an examination during which the public, statutory consultees and interested parties were given the opportunity to give evidence to the Examining Authority, recommendations were made to the Secretary of State on 05 August 2025.
This is the 100th energy application out of 167 applications examined to date and was again completed by the Planning Inspectorate within the statutory timescale laid down in the Planning Act 2008.
