ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Edward J. Feser, Ph.D., has been inaugurated as the 34th president of Saint Louis University.

Feser took over as president on July 1, but his official inauguration was held on Wednesday.

“Our belief in progress — grounded and humility, but bolstered by courage and optimism — is essential,” Feser said. “We are a university which strives to own its mistakes, to write its wrongs, to bridge divided people, to close the gap between falsehoods and truth, to pursue rigor and excellence in all things, and to do right and to do good for our students, our city and our country.”

Earlier this week, Feser announced that a strategic plan that would focus on enrollment, student success, research, scholarship and athletics.
