Srinagar, Nov 05: Police in Baramulla, in coordination with representatives from the Wildlife Protection Department and the Municipal Council Baramulla, conducted a joint inspection of Zain Pet Store following a complaint from Animal Aid Kashmir, an NGO based in Anantnag.
During the inspection, several animals were rescued from the premises and handed over to the NGO with proper receipts through the Wildlife Department.
Action under Section 36 of the Police Act has been initiated at Police Station Baramulla. The shopkeeper has been instructed to close the shop until a valid license is obtained.
J&K Police reaffirm their commitment to animal welfare and urge the public to report any incidents of animal cruelty or illegal animal trade.
