Miss Universe participants staged a mass walkout from an event in Bangkok, Thailand, following a disrespectful exchange between an organizer and a contestant.
The women showed their solidarity for Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch, after she was reamed at a pre-pageant event by executive Nawat Itsaragrisil, who claimed she showed “no respect.” He also insulted her intelligence.
Other contestants appeared to get up as seen in video of the confrontation that was livestreamed on the pageant’s official Facebook page on Tuesday.
In the video, the beauty queens from around the world were sitting in rows as Itsaragrisil spoke, telling the women that they were all expected to “promote the host country.”
