(WFRV) - The Pro Football Hall of Fame saw a brand new Packer inducted earlier in 2025, and now another former Packer could be en route in 2026.

According to an NFL press release, former Packers head coach Mike Holmgren was named one of the nine semifinalists in the coaching category as possible candidates for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2026.

Holmgren, who coached the Green and Gold from 1992-1998, was part of the team's return to glory after some down years in the post-Bart Starr and Vince Lombardi era, as he and a young quarterback by the name of Brett Favre led the Packers to victory in Super Bowl XXXI.

Holmgren was one of the semifinalists in this category last year as well, ultimately being the finalist among the group; however, he was not elected to the Hall of Fame.
