MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Ouachita Green invites Ouachita Parish residents to participate in the annual America Recycles Day event.

The America Recycles Day event will be a drive-through system, so residents can drop off recyclable items without leaving their vehicles.

Ouachita Green hosts this community event each year to promote recycling, reduce waste, protect the environment, educate on proper disposal, divert waste from landfills and conserve natural resources.

Residents can participate from 9 am- 1pm. Volunteers will be on site to help with unloading, if needed. This will be a free event, so save your money for something fun.

The Monroe Civic Center is located at 401 Lea Joyner Memorial Expressway, Monroe.
