A man is facing a second-degree murder charge after authorities say his brother was found dead at a home in Exmore over the weekend.

According to Northampton County Sheriff David Doughty, deputies responded around 2:31 p.m. on Sunday to a report of an unresponsive man at 10563 Occohannock Boulevard.

When deputies arrived, they found 43-year-old Adam Todd Ashby, of Exmore, deceased at the scene. The victim’s brother, Samuel Pettit Ashby, 46, who also lived at the home, was taken into custody without incident.

Samuel Ashby has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bond at the Eastern Shore Regional Jail.
