Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have identified the remains at the centre of an ongoing murder investigation as those of a man who went missing from the Smiths Falls area two years ago.
Robbie Thomson was 34 when he disappeared in October 2023. Police used dogs and airplanes to search for him, and recently offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to a conviction.
On Wednesday, OPP announced Thomson's remains were found during a property search last week on Kelly Jordan Road northwest of Smiths Falls.
