“Austin follows a plan and he will stick to that plan. He’s very tightly laced,” student thespian Rocco Pugliese said, describing the character he plays in the musical comedy “I Love You Because,” set for Nov. 13-16 in Wilkes University’s Dorothy Dickson Darte Center.

“He has a girlfriend at the top of the show, Catherine. When he finds her with another guy,” Pugliese said, “it destroys his world.”

Oh, but that betrayal and the resulting breakup make room in Austin’s world for another character who is as spontaneous as Austin is structured.

“She is a free spirit. She just loves to explore,” said Samantha Gashi, who plays Marcy, a character with a history of unhappy relationships.
