On Wednesday, the Houston Texans (3-5) revealed that quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion) will miss a pivotal Week 10 divisional game against the Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3). Fifth-year veteran Davis Mills will start.

Stroud's absence is a major blow to Houston's chances of sneaking back into the playoff picture in the second half of the season. In 26 starts from 2021-22, Mills threw 32 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. He averaged 216.6 passing yards per game, and the Texans went 5-19-1, scoring 16.8 points per game and being held under 20 points 14 times.
