BALTIMORE -- The Orioles will have an entirely new group of hitting coaches working underneath first-time manager Craig Albernaz in 2026.
On Wednesday, the Tigers announced the hiring of O’s hitting coach Cody Asche to serve as their assistant hitting coach. Detroit also hired Baltimore first-base coach Anthony Sanders to work in the same position for its club.
Sources previously confirmed to MLB.com that assistant hitting coaches Tommy Joseph and Sherman Johnson won’t be returning to the Orioles , with Johnson leaving to become a Minor League hitting coordinator for the White Sox. Bench coach Robinson Chirinos also won’t be back with Baltimore , per a source.
